Straight Answers to Your Questions
Why should I have a service contract at all?
When you pay for service as you go, you never know when to expect a big bill. A customer who just needs a tune-up one year can have three or four service calls the next. Having a service plan eliminates these ups and downs, and allows you to rest easy. It also increases the likelihood that you'll have small problems taken care of before they become big ones.
What about the cost?
Look at what happens if your system needs a repair. It can cost up to $400 to replace your expansion tank. A blower motor can run up to $350. A new aquastat can be $200 for the part alone.
In addition, every system should be tuned once a year. A tune-up saves you up to 10% on your oil bills and helps prevent problems. Our normal charge for a tune-up is $277 for a boiler or $238 for a hot air furnace.
Our service plans cover all of this and much, much more. And depending on which level of protection you choose, you receive coverage on more than 99 different service parts.
Which contract is best for me?
That depends on the level of protection you're comfortable with. Our Base Plan includes a ValuePlus system tune-up. Our Silver Plan covers labor costs for most of the things that typically go wrong with a heating system. In addition, we've added coverage on many tasks that weren't covered by our old contract.
Our Gold Plan is a giant step above that. It covers both parts and labor for system repairs, including some repairs that are less frequent but can be extremely costly. Even if your entire boiler, furnace, or oil tank breaks down, you will receive discounts on the work.
With all three plans you get our comprehensive ValuePlus Tune-up. It's always been a cut above an industry standard tune-up. Since it's so meticulous, our ValuePlus Tune-up takes two or three times longer than an ordinary tune-up from another company. We adjust your oil burner to maximum efficiency using the latest technology and instruments. We test all operating controls for safety, and even clean the chimney base if necessary. Finally, we test your unit and give you a written evaluation with your efficiency results. The fuel savings that result from higher efficiency can save you almost the entire cost of the contract each year.
What about coverage for my hot water heater or air conditioner?
We offer coverage plans for oil-fired water heaters, air conditioners, and heap pumps that can be purchased with or without either plan. The advantage is you get a 10% discount on each additional plan.
Who will perform the service on my system?
The best heating technicians in the business. We maintain a full-time staff of over thirty highly trained technicians with an average of fifteen years of service experience. Every technician is trained and tested to our high standards at advanced heating schools. They know our customers and the level of quality they expect. And we never use subcontractors.
Do I need a service contract to get emergency service?
No. We provide 24-hour emergency service every day of the week for all of our customers, whether or not they have a service contract. The difference is that having a service contract means, in most cases, we don't charge you for service contract items.
We provide non-emergency service during our regular business hours, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
When do I get my ValuePlus Tune-up?
We send you notification each year of when we'd like to come to your home. If you give us notice of your vacation or personal days, we can schedule well in advance for your convenience.
There are parts on these contracts that my system doesn't have. Am I paying for them?
No. You only pay for the parts you have. For example, a furnace system has a blower that sends hot air through the vents, while a boiler has a circulator that sends hot water through the pipes. The price of the contract takes this into account.
Do you have payment options for the contract?
Yes. You can charge your contract to MasterCard or Visa, or you can pay for either plan as part of your budget plan payments.
What about oil tanks?
If your tank is more than 20 years old, or if you're concerned about the remote possibility of a leak, please call us about your options.
