Energy Audits for Your Home Heating & Cooling System

 Your heating system, your cooling system or your water heater can account for as much as 60% of your annual energy costs.
H.B. McClure has long been recognized as experts in heating, cooling and water heating efficiency. Now, we not only install high-efficiency, cost-saving equipment. Our RESNET and BPI certification also gives us the capability to review your entire home and make recommendations on how you can save money.
We offer two home energy audit/analysis services.
 Our comprehensive residential energy audit includes a review of your total annual home energy bills. It also includes a thorough site examination where we test and inspect your home's thermal envelope and evaluate appliances, heating/cooling equipment and duct and piping systems.
We then provide a detailed analysis including costs for recommended improvements. Most importantly, we calculate estimated costs savings and provide a projected return on investment report for each potential upgrade.
After upgrades are completed, should you choose to implement them, we return to test and verify that the improvements will perform as specified.
Our home energy report is similar to the process outlined above, but does not include the investment-grade analytical report. We provide DIY tips on what you can do to mitigate energy losses and save money, as well as provide pricing for professionally performed items. There is no return visit with this service.
Home Energy Audit Evaluation Tools
How do we evaluate your home's energy usage and losses? We have a variety of tools at our disposal including:
Blower door testing equipment – Pressurize the home and determine rate of leakage to see how much energy you waste due to home infiltration. (Applies to both the audit and energy report visits)
Thermal imaging camera* – Allows us to peer inside walls and above ceilings to see how well your insulation is performing.
 Duct blaster* – Provides diagnostic information on your duct system's performance.
Ensure your heated/cooled air is making it to the living space and not being wasted by leaking into attic/crawlspace/basement.
