If you are considering upgrading your equipment or are faced with significant repair bills for an old system, there are several programs available to subsidize your purchase of high-efficiency equipment. This rebate program runs until 5/31/11 or until funding is depleted.
Residential customers served by PPL lines are eligible for utility rebates directly from PPL on the following equipment installations:
High-efficiency central air conditioning systems (up to $300)
High-efficiency air-source heat pump systems (up to $400)
Electric heat pump water heaters ($300)
Geothermal heat pumps ($217/ton up to $1200)
Energy Star programmable thermostats ($50 each)

These rebates can be used in conjunction with Federal Income Tax Credits worth 30% of installation costs (capped at $1500 for conventional systems and un-capped for geothermal systems).
